Geography
On the southern edge of the great continent Agora, near the planet's equator and close to the world tree lies a realm that spends much of it’s time under the sun. These lands are known as the Edgelands or in the tongue of it’s inhabitants, Itenca. Due to their frequent exposure to sunlight, plants and trees of all manner of color and size thrive in the Rainforests of the Edgelands. This is helped further by the volcanic soil that composes much of the land.  Many of the dozens of volcanoes in Itenca still remain active and are the subjects of worship among its inhabitants. While trekking through the colorful jungles, one must be cautious of sudden lava flows, earthquakes, steam vent eruptions, rainstorms, or the dreaded Tlatla. Tlatla is the name of when the ashy volcanic air becomes mixed with the violent storms of the region, and colors the falling lightning a wicked red. Victims of the Tlatla are often helpless as they struggle to breath through all the ash. Itenca is indeed a dangerous land, and that’s before you consider the dangerous wildlife, which happens to thrive here. Indeed the warm, steamy, rainforests have made an excellent climate for the reptilian denizens that can survive the many natural hazards.

Biology
Species that survive in the Edgelands are known for their survival. The wildlife tends to be quite colorful…but dangerous! From the tiniest poison frogs that the tribes use for their arrows and spearheads, to the Insects and Arachnids that grow to alarming sizes. The primary denizens of the Jungles however are the Great Lizards, referred to by scholars sometimes as the Dinosaurs. These magnificent species have been kept alive exclusively in these lands by the climate conditions that are so hostile to other species. Still, the cunning Raptars, the proud Three-horns,  and the mighty Rexar are not the masters of the land. They are tamed and trained by Itenca’s various tribes, which consist of Goblins, Orcs, Humans, Elves, Catfolk, and most of all, the Saurians. The Saurians of Itenca are mostly Lizardkin, but the most noble of their clans are the Dragonkin who carry the blood of the Itenca’s true masters, The Great Wyrms. The Mighty Winged Lords of Fire and Sky are revered by all the tribes, and are respected by the wildlife as the dominant predator of the land. The Edgelands are one of the last places in the world where one can go to find Dragons, as they have been hunted into endangerment by The Imperium.

Civilization
In these modern times, The Edgelands are home to many nomadic tribes. Tribesmen are very adept at Jungle navigation, and it is one of the only things that have kept them alive in these trying times. Unlike many of the other parts of the world, The Tribes here tend not to separate themselves along racial lines, and are in fact quite mixed. It doesn’t matter much to most chieftains what you are. It only matters that you are a boon, and not a burden to the rest of the tribe. Orcs are often used for their strength, Humans for their ingenuity, and Catfolk for their agility and so on. Saurians are almost always the leaders and their numbers frequently make up more than 50% of the composition of most tribes. The climate of Itenca makes them healthy and strong. The Saurians were not always nomads however. Centuries ago, they were the people of a mighty empire, The Eztalli. The Eztalli were an old and mighty empire who built incredible monuments and made great advancements in the fields of agriculture, technology, and warfare. They were a deeply religious people, and that trait lives on in their descendents today.
